I would love to send in a DXDiag only if I knew how!
Click on your Windows START button, click on RUN, type in DXDIAG and hit the ENTER key.

This will run DirectX's diagnostics. You can save the report by clicking the SAVE ALL INFORMATION button on the bottom of the DXDiag window.

Turning it on or off on an S3 won't make any difference. S3 cards are too old to be fully compatible with the blending and texture features of DirectX8 we are using in Enigma.

Best bet is to turn the S3 out to pasture and get a newer card.

ATI Radeon 8500 128mb: < $90

ATI Radeon 7500 64mb: < $60

Both of these cards are in use in our studio and used to develop the game on.

NVidia:

GeForce 2 Pro: $100

GeForce 4 MX 440 64mb: <$60

All of your gaming experiences will get better with a simple upgrade.

That's why we print the minimum specs on the bottom of the box. You can upgrade an emachine, but it depends on the model exactly how far you can upgrade. Your retailer makes the rules on returns.

I would contact ATI directly and ask for their help in selecting a card for your machine.

Ummm, an S3 video card is not DirectX 7 compatible - no hardware transform and lighting. Means it wont work properly with Enigma.

Yup, but your card is out of date and cannot support games that utilize DirectX 7 and up specific features. Enigma utilizes native texture compression and advanced blending and texture rendering. Your card doesn't handle it. It's time to upgrade your video card or get an XBox.
