well come to find out - for future use.

-XP Pro does not have the speech applet - it has the voice tab on the sound applet.

-the demo's do not work for sound (not sure why the enigmasapi's included with the big demo then).

- and lite-on cd/dvd's are not supported.

well bought the game, changed CD Player and same result - emailed support again on it.

Here's what I found - someone note this as the support@warfleet.com clearly didn't believe me when I said I didn't have a speech applet in control panel (I screenshot it for proof). But they stated that they had it on 3 xp machines, so I started digging.

In my particular case - not sure why, but while the speech Applet was not in the control panel, it was still installed, (any Control panel is a .cpl file - the speech is the sapi.cpl (filename from microsoft support).

To solve:

Do a search for sapi.cpl - it will probably be inside C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 - copy it to c:\WINDOWS\System32
