Big Patching Troubles.

Ok , I wanted to give the support team an update, and some possibly useful information regarding my patcher freezeing problem.

For the heck of it today, I downloaded a program that I used to have called, CPU Killer. It slows down the CPU to whatever Mhz the user sets. I also disabled Hyperthreading for my processer in BIOS. Ran CPU Kill, and set my CPU Speed to 500mhz. Then ran the patcher.

It worked!

I am now running gold.

So, I dont need a fix anymore, since I fixed it, but this was weird. I thought maybe the info would be useful to the support team, and that is why I posted here for you all.

Thanks,

EndeavourCmdr.

this happened to me when i tried to update to the gold patch, except that when i try to rerun the patch after it crashes out i get a message saying that the "gold" patch is already installed. i'll try all the things discussed above, as well as disabling HT in the bios.

this is odd.

you need to re-install ERT if the patching failed before you can patch again.
