Gold Edition Is So Much Buggier Than Before

East, I use the "V" key a lot just so it is playable. I have 1GB of PC2700 (333) memory, shouldn't that be enough? Is there any settings in the SAPI stuff that I can play with? I have done all the training and it works fine there. Ingame though I it will fire torps whenever it wants and seems to turn off my engine a lot too. I also lost my "Surface the Boat" and "Dive, Dive, Dive" no longer works either.

I tried adjusting the accuracy settings but it causes the reponse to do nothing or it continues to be wrong. What I don't understand is that in the training messages it follows me just fine. Maybe I need to reinstall just the SAPI is that possible?

We are experimenting with it now trying to find out what the problem could be. I have the accuracy set near the top and audio acceleration set to standard. Sometimes it works better on Basic.

I've trained the sapi a couple of times, mine is very accurate. You may need to check your microphone volume in the sapi setup screen.

Mine works alot better since the gold edition. Seems like it responds much more accurately now than it did before instaling the gold edition. Very happy with it.

I have a totally different experience. I had played my previous edition for a long time, and I was absolutely happy with that voice command, even without knowing anything about training stuff. As a matter of fact, the voice recognition program of the previous one seemed to me capable of adjusting itself to my voice and accent, because right after the installation, it had trouble understanding me, then i spoke very slowly and clearly, the program got better understanding me each time i played. After getting along with me for some time, it became really farmiliar with my accent and execute orders with nearly 100% acuracy!

But this Gold is giving some attitude.

the sAPI is the same as the one in Windows, you can access it from control panel->speech, if you havent trained the profile after you installed the game, then run thru atleast 2 of the sessions, see if that helps. you can also in the speech applet adjust the accuracy, try that too

Yes .... as I said in previous posting ,,,, the " V " boat originally refered to is a Freyr corvette.

The V boat was the one being aimed at , and it is a good example of when a few seconds delay can make the difference ( in a sub ! LOL ) lol

The best accuracy comes from a microphone that is capable of good sound quality and set up properly, within about 2" of your mouth but off to the side and out of the air stream so there are no blowing sounds interfering with the words and at the best audio level for recognition accuracy. Too loud and too soft hurts accuracy. If you make an important change in the position of the mic or the sound level or get a new mic it usually helps to rerun the training exercise.

I don't believe the version in Enigma can learn unless you unless you go into the modes expressly for that purpose, otherwise the program would try to learn from your mistakes and accuracy would degrade over time.

I've been using a voice recognition for dictation for years. There was a learning cuve, like learning to type. The voice recognition in Enigma has worked well for me after only the first training exercise. (The people who use VR for professional dictation buy outrageously expensive dictation headsets. I use middle of the road quality with good success.)

Ok, I think im an idiot I found that I was getting a lot of feedback from my mic (prolly why my voice commands suxers) so I started looking around. My sound settings somehow got changed in SAPI to suround sound speakers instead of the headset/mic combo that I now use. I changed the setting but have not tested in game yet as I had to go to work. I'll try again when I get home and post my results. I will be sooo embarrassed if it was such a simple problem.

Well, the voice works a lot better now. Not sure why the voice would care what speakers I have, but it did.
