Yes you will be able to drive the tankers and merchants. We intend in the future to support a merchant marine and a civilian shipping component (player commanded).
sounds bloody excellent, so if we get land or even basic continents further down the track, we can just about stage or program missions for full port to port convoys. great i have an old book at home on tatics strat`s,and in it an exellent diagram on all the major covoys routes and where most uboat attacks and frequency of attacks differing over ww2 years occurred.. should come in handy to base my mission design on .

Just a point of interest, rememebr that Enigma It's a Differrent World.

Being a Qlder, we're lucky to where the Enigma world has sighted us. if you go through the campaigns you can see the significance of the sheltered waters of Moreton Bay and Brisbane to the LFN. If we factor in the train links both south to Sydney and Melbourne, then the mineral deposits and especially the coal around Gladstone, Bne becomes a significant protected harbour and shipyard (The Hood was headed here on the Coronation Cruise).

I have a working set of notes for a second series of missions that is actually set off the Qld coast including shipping sneaking inside the reef to avoid the enemy.

your right about that pioneer, as im now living at bundaberg past 4yrs, formally cairns. and far too often we dont seem to make it into many plots and or scenery for that matter. and enigma changed that, for once an game that puts our part of the world on the map, and your right there are several deep water ports down our coast that could factor into various senarios. and speaking of inside the reef princess charlotte bay up near cook town, would make an ideal place for sheltering. i used to go out on my mates line fishing boat 56'footer steel hull, and we would duck in there to camp the night.

Copied this over from another thread re how to start a submarine undetected.
When you set objectives inside of a taskforce you can decide if you want the ship to know that the sub is there.  If you want to make sure a sub starts un-detected, then start  the sub underwater, 3000 to 4000m out, full stop at about 100m depth.
When you pop the periscope, you only have a very little time before you are detected (inside of 3000m).
