Game Line up for the start of 2 Squad matches.
Tbar and Talon will start on GB in Spitfires.
Zarn, Top_Gun will wing together in LA7
Joker, Red, & Coldfire will wing together in LA7
This is not official as of yet and is subject to change.
Coldfire may be subject to use GB Spitfire as well.
The goal for this is to meet the challenge of fighting against ME-109K4s. The LA's will climb hard to gain altitude at the start of the game. The Spitfires will main altittude 5000 or less. LA's are going to drive the GE team down to the Spitfires for kills. LA's will hit and run and Spitfires will dogfight the GE. LA's will need to help protect the spitfires from GE's that will be attcking from up high.
Here's what we are looking at.
Effective gun range of Spits, 2100 Machine guns and cannons. Range 2150 /tbar
Effective gun range of LA7, 2100, ALL Cannons. Range 2200 /tbar
Effective gun range of ME-109K4 - 1800 , machine guns and cannons.
We should have a little better distance with our guns. The ME-109 will out climb us a little but we should be able to out turn them pretty easily. The spits can definitely take care of the ME-109 if they can engage in a turn fight. The LA's need to prevent the ME-s from diving attacks.
Also on Sunday we will be using 2 channels on Team Speak. The LA's will be on one channel and the Spits on the other channel. We will have a couple of people able to talk on both channels so we can keep communications open for both sides of our team.

Sorry Im late :/ of course Im in!
hope Im not too late
hope Im not too late
I have noticed that most of you guys from take off are climbing way to 'hard'. The other day when flying LA'7 three of us took off. .. I was about 4k feet behind them when I took off .. and I got to 10k BEFORE they DID! Reason: They were climbing too hard. The LA's will climb hard to gain altitude at the start of the game.
Speed is what you need to climb quickly. Find the speed that keeps increasing speed .. AND alt. So you find the optimum "rate of climb" ..
Hello PO RedAce
I am sorry I was not able to make the match. I am glad you all had fun.
Practice is what makes any team better you must remember that all these other squads have been around a long time. The numbers instead of names really works great in battle I have proven this with other squads in the past. It takes time for TO to get use to giving commands in match and T-BAR & Joker are doing a great job once again it takes time. Had I been able to be there you would have seen a little different tactics I will try and take some time and go over with joker and T bar the best way to call out commands. to put it simply you just call out the numbers 5 bogie on my 6 etc I am still at work and will try to post more at later time. Remeber the main thing is to have fun winning will come I promise you that. You need to learn situational awarness always know where the next enemy is and your next move good luck

THANKs so much for this Important Thread Red Ace, I was going to post the same subject but u were faster than me
Now let me continue with my own observations too added to urs, apart from the importance of the communication stuff my fellow squad members mentioned on TS:
4. I was surprised to fly the planes i was not used to fly with..I'm used to fly Spitfire 9 all the time and i'm doing very well with it so far..and that was a BIG disadvantage for me on the match (I was getting killed alot and only made 1 or 2 kills the whole match half i played! cause of stubid La-5 )
I had to be honest and i'm not ashamed of saying that but i better face it now with everyone here to not make the same mistake next sunday match.
..i was prepared to fly spit since i knew we are going to fly GB from sortie schedule post and was practicing on FFA arenas few hours before the match on spit.
and i think it was a disadvantage for many other team members too cause most pilots fly spits usually.
at least if we had to switch to another base like SU or GE on the next match half we can make at least one perfect half using GB base and the other just good half.
5. I think it was a very good plan but not a perfect one for the whole team match..we had like 8 pilots flying LA's and 2 only flying Spits while we had the chance to fly GB basicly..we should had more spits for dog fights and too few LA's like 3 planes max to climb fast and high to drag the enemy down and the rest fly spits.
I noticed at the beginning of the match first half we were getting downed like crazy most of us, that made me ashamed a bit wondering what the TKFM squad thinking of us right now at that moment..
I have no problem practicing 109K and La-7 too beside Spit 9 if i have to but at least i should have knew about it with enough time before the match. but I still prefer Spit..
This is what i honestly think of the match..and we should work on those 2 points beside the ones Red Ace mentioned before the next sunday match for the best of all of us as BSS not just me.

Hello Sheepies,
Thanks for your great response about yesterdays 2 squad match. The main thing about this match yesterday is the EXPERIENCE we all gained. BSS is the newest squad flying, by that I mean with the exception of 5 or 6 pilots in the entire squad, we are all fairly new with less than 6 months experience. What happed yesterday will continue for some time, so get use to it.
YESTERDAY was a milestone that I did not think we would have or nor was I prepared for. WE HAD 9 to 10 PILOTS SHOW UP FOR A MATCH. Congrats BLACK SHEEP!!!! For the most part since I became and member of the Black Sheep. I have only flown with a max of 5 or 6 pilots in a match. Most of the time it was usally just Tbar and myself with whoever else could show up. Not in my wildest dreams would I think that I would have to pick a pilot to sit out while the rest of us could fly.
This brings me to my first subject and one that Red Ace mentioned. TEAM SPEAK is a very nessary tool for 2 WAY COMMUNICATIONS!! You can type all you want on the in game comms, but it is highly unlikely that I will see what you typed. I look for 2 things on the in game comms. Scramble and Disengaged. Everything else I will probably never notice. I flip through the views, check the maps, and try to figure out who's where and what we need to do. I have no time for reading the comms. I'm sure that Tbar and Air Boss would agree.
I can tell you this when Air Boss is in the game, we play a lot more aggressively and with assuance. WHY?? Air Boss has the knack for great communication and can read the map and knows exactly what is going on in a game. He has a 4 dimensional view that I can't yet comprehend. I do not yet have that experience, everything still looks 2 dimensional.
Tbar is really good at it too, but I, myself is just learning, so be patient.
Point number two: Our game plan was good up and to the point of Scamble! Then it all went to hell. We fell from out game plan and flew thiers which gave them a lot of kills.
The plan was for the GB team to hang low and stay near there base again altitude to 5000 max.
SU was to fly high cover over to grid towards S-19. This would of made GE come to us when we had the altitude advantage. What I saw happen was GB flew stright out towards GE base which left them un-protected. When GE saw this they chased GB back towards the middle area. In a attemp to give them cover I moved the SU team towards the middle to try to intecept, but GE was already higher. I was the first kill of the game which should never of happend.
Point 3: Get use to flying planes that you don't normally fly. Yes, the Spitfire is a good plane and I hate it because it is to slow in climbing for me, but I can fly a spit and be pretty good. The LA-5 & 7 are good planes. They manuver pretty well and can turn pretty good. They do lack in the armour department, but they have 3 cannons. The main reason for us using the LA was the rapid climbing ablitity. This plane and climb almost as fast as a ME-109. This is why most teams will put most of their pilots in it. It doesn't mean we are going to win that portion of the match, but it should make the kill a lot less, until we have our chance in the GE planes. Yesterday it did not. I do believe that our game plan would of worked with one exception. The GB planes should not have been altitude restricted. Instead, the GB planes should get what ever alt they can gain while SU engages GE up high. That way when we do engage GE the GB s will have enough time to get up and fly amoug us. When a GE turns he'll have nowhere to go except the blazing guns of a spit.
Ok, I guess that enough for now. More to come soon. Tbar and myself will discuss practice plans and game plans for the next match. If anyone else has anything to say, please let us know by posting here. Where on our way to the top. Its a long climb, but we will get there.

Good job BSS! its Obvious that their ALOT more experienced, and we werent prepared especially with the number Tags. but still we did a great job, with all the confusion we were in.
This is what I want to say about todays match:
1.Obviously the numbers are too confusing, even for you; Tbar and JoKeR, It cant work If you dont know who ur talking to, lol. any way, I got the list of numbers, now il try to memorise them, lol. of course we'll have to practice alot till were used to them..
2.If there's ever a way to communicate without a mic this would be it: I type what I wanna say to friends (button 8) and u respond by talking on TS, I dont think its that hard to read, also would be easier when your not in combat. plus I wont be typing long sentences, things like: Im down, need cover, where to go... etc. Imagine Im typing...
3.With more practice we'll hopefully Improve
you cant blame me for doing nothing except flying around then die, cause I did not get any orders even though I could hear every thing on TS.
Probably no one will care, but its ok im used to it...
All other followup posts moved to this topic .. original topic deleated. We must keep things in order
well the topic was moved or deleted from the lounge but this is wat i was about to post
alright i got a lot to say about wat to of our newest pilots said.... ace i no you and eveyone else can remember these numbers ... cuz look at me... w/o looking at the roster i cantell you a few pilots and their numbers... and i am NOT looking i promise you that ...

34=Coldfire
(These guys i had to look for bcuz i had never seen them fly their tags...)
21=Strife
29=Deathmark
??=Blackwolf(I Dont Think He Has A Number)(Yet)
everybody else on roster like never flys so w/e wit them
now Cold i got somthing to say about wat you said in the 2nd paragraph on 5.
WHY WOULD WE CARE IF THEY THINK WE SUCK!!!!!!! its their problem not ours if they make fun of us so i dont care wat they sy aboiut us i would just ignore em so..... ya just dont mind them...just concentrate..ok you got me?
and about the spitfire problem i agree that we should have had the guys w/o LA-7s to fly spits cuz i suck in LA-5s and i dont even wanna no wat i would say if i had to fly one... and i goty a possible solution for next time... y dont i become the commander of GB and ill have the guys like...ace cold and blackwolf with me... as long as they listen ill work wit em... so if Joker and T_Bar could work it ou and tell me wat they think that would be great.. and i also think we needed more spits to have a chance at that match.. so that was a prob....
