I just bought this game today, and I was surprised I had not heard of it before, but I have really enjoyed it today, so I was prompted to look for forums, patches, updates and the like. Can someone tell me whats going on with some of the following topics of which I can not find details on. For regference, I'm using the american version

Multiplayer, I've read forums about people's fleets, how can I get involved?
Ships, What ships are included? Looks like the Tirpitz on the cover of the american version, and I'd be highly disappointed if I can only blow stuff up with nothing bigger than DD's. If they're in one of those elusive add-ons whre are they.

All the updates have been delayed due to the European publisher defrauding the developer on nearly two million dollars. The money and time that *would* have been devoted to the patch and multiplayer, has instead been consumed by litigation and lawyer's bills.
East posted elsewhere about the patch, which in addition to a new user interface and more ships, will allow you to command a battlecruiser in the freeform battle mode once you have completed one complete campaign.

The Xmas patch is on the way, Im sure, but even TAG and DC is entiled to some Holidays off work
Quarterly updates are more like 3-6 months updates, where the upcoming Patch is #1 for the US Retail.
How to get involded with an upstarting fleet just reply to the thread you read, or maybe you want to found your own, then start a new topic.
In the current Retail (unpatched) the biggest vessel you can command is a DD.

US Release happened at the end of September - 3 months later and VIOLA' December. The feature patch is almost done and heading for Dreamcatcher QA. It will probably be a couple of weeks still as our guys needed a break and are off for a week.
Multiplayer is unfortunately delayed and could be as much as a year away. We are hoping not, but much depends on getting this lawsuit overwith and our cashflow stable enough to have enough competent staff to get it done.
The patch that is coming will let you pilot a Hood class battlecruiser once you have completed any campaign. The ship on the cover of the US version is the HOOD with the compass bridge removed - don't ask us why, someone in Dreamcatchers art department thought it looked better without it - go figure.
