Addon: Thread Meter / Big Wigs

Hello all

I'd like to give some attention (again) to these 2 addons.

The first is called a Thread Meter. Some already have it, incl most of the tanks, and it's a very good thing to have especially if you are a DPS class. It will tell you the amount of thread everyone with the addon installed has. This way, especially on very hard to tank bosses like Hakkar, it's very easy to see if you are about to pull aggro of one of the tanks. This way you can maximise your DPS, without actually pulling! Really, it makes the fine line between "how do I DPS as much as I can without pulling aggro" soooo much easier because it is just displayed in a little graph. May I here give Funcy as an example, who always gets very close to the tanks but never get's higher then them!

Maybe it's even very handy for healers as well, as you see the order of tanks with their aggro (aka you are healing the one that's on top since he's tanking the mob, but you can see in advance if another tank will steal aggro, what tank will get the aggro if the nr 1 tank dies, and you can switch sooner because you are prepared)

The other addon is called Bigwigs. I think some of you already have that one as well. It is sort of a bossmod, that gives you very simple, basic, non-invasive, but very effective warnings and TIMERS in a boss fight.

For example at Lucifron, you see two little timebars, one for each curse, so you can VERY easily see when he's about to do his curse/impending doom. So you don't have to suddenly get out of range within the "5 second warning".

Same with Hakkar for example. If you miss a "x seconds to x" it's ok, you have a little timer that tells you when what will happen

And ofc warnings like "x is mindcontrolled" "x is the bomb"

And you get the tackiest music ever when you down a boss. I'm really conditioned to that stupid little music with "YOU HAVE DEFEATED X" lol.

Another outsider comment (boring day at work)

KTM threat meter is extremely usefull. In addition to what Lisz already told, it is also very usefull for healers in controlling aggro. I use it all the time. In some places it is just too easy to pull aggro by healing too early or 'spam healing'. With KTM it is easy to see if you're too high on threat list and use fade and/or let other healers heal more.

However, KTM threat meter only works properly if everyone in the raid has it installed. I really suggest making it obligatory (not using, but installing it, so those who use it can have the threat calculated correctly).

Personally, I would like to ask ALL TANKS to have KTM (Klh Threat Meter) installed.

Even if they dont use it themselves, they can have it installed and not showing as long as it is active, so that all _other_ members of the raid can use it to judge their threat against the tanks. Having started using this recently in both tank and non-tank dps roles, I think this is extremely useful; by having all tanks install the mod, then all other raid members can use it if they wish.

Well I know that rax, koren, dough, asb, hurst have them installed. dunno for the other tanks

Besides being easy for a lot of diff things, its also nice to see what burst dmg can do and its a nice competition to do as much dmg between diff classes *(without dpsing before the call of course)....

lately as gear improves u see koren struggling to maintain agro...but if u do it more than 3 times u see him up his game making it harder to steal agro... which can only be considered a good thing . More agro from tank = more sustained dps for us .

Hehe, but don't totally rely on thread meter. It has it's uses and is invaluable when learning to kill Vael in bwl, but it's also way off alot. Especially multi-stage / adds with the boss / aggro reducing abilities from the boss type of fights make threat meter totally useless sometimes and can even cause people to over-aggro because threat meter says they are save.
