Hello, I'm new to this forum (I just found it) , but not the game. I have beaten it with the Germans (anyone notice if you set your charges to abut 150-180 you will almost always hit the subs below?) and am working on the US.

Anyway, I fo think flyable planes would be awesome. For those of you thinking that it would change the game, I don't think it would because if you try to blast a battleship (can't wait) with 1 or 2 dive bombers, it isn't going to work. You would need to devote an entire strike of aircraft to sink it (were there torpedo bombers in the original?). This would leave yor fleet without most air cover. Now, trying to attack a corevette or DE would be much easier. :) enigma!:

Also, to address the planes being to weak-what if you could swich planes in flight?

Ex: You get shot down. You can either use your raft to get to a nearby ship (call for help), or get "teleported" into a new ai airplane that is airborne or on the carrier. This would also be good for abandoning ship-without the "teleporting" part. Image

Teleported? These are planes. not X-Wings ;)

Seriously though, I doubt they'd add that. That would make missions too easy in my opinion.

I think this post is getting a little out of hand. Let's get real, people. The more you ask for, the longer it will take to get multiplayer.

LEGO said- You make a good point, there are few strictly ship games out there, but I don't know of ANY ww2 era games that have pilotable ships and planes, so maybe enigma 2 will be the first of its kind.
You havent seen WWIIOnline.com? It's been online since June 2001, fully 3D with land, air, sea battles.. currently you can load tanks or atguns and infantry into frieghters, bomb destroyers with HurricaneII's, land infantry on beaches with Fairmile patrol boats, dogfight over 500 towns on a 200km square world map 1/2 scale of europe, take a parachute transport team into rear areas and blow bridges or capture flags.

Their biggest problem for me is they have no submarines, you need a hot system to get good frame rates, and like any multiplayer game you need people you can get good communication with.. because the other team will whip you like a dog if you have a group of idiots on your side all running around seperately.
